The Christian Counter

How come congress can get Kellogg's to cut back on sugar, making breakfast cereal healthier, but they can't legislate the internet so children wont acidentally have pornography sites appear while searching?

 

The Child Online Protection Act (COPA) was first written in 1998, and, a decade later, the courts have still been claiming it violates our First Ammendment rights.  On March 22, 2007, Judge Lowell Reed Jr struck the Act down again and said "Perhaps we do the minors of this country harm if First Amendment protections, which they will with age inherit fully, are chipped away in the name of their protection."

 

All the Act does is require Internet pornographers to verify the age of customers through the use of adult-access codes or credit cards!  Why on earth can't we even require that?!
